e-trends online conference

Well it has been a while since I've posted! I'll add a few posts today in order to update everyone on the project so far. I'll also endeavour to blog regularly from now on!

On the 19th and 20th June, some of the project team attended the online e-trends event. Between us we attended Will Richardson's session A Web of Connections: Why the Read/Write Web Changes Everything, AREDv2 (Evelyn Flitman, Linda Smart), How to get the best out of social networking tools! (Coach Carole), Podcasting, YouTube and audio/video media (Ewan McIntosh), Second Life In-World Presentation: Showcasing Australasian Educational Projects in Second Life (Jo Kay, Sean Fitzgerald), Virtual Worlds - What are They and Why do Educators Need to Pay Attention to Them? (Sean FitzGerald, Jo Kay) and also WikiEducator: Turning the digital divide into digital dividends - I hope Australia can help (Wayne Mackintosh) .

As you can see, a fairly wide variety of topics! Another benefit of attending this particular online conference was the use of the virtual classroom software Elluminate. This was our first introduction to Elluminate and we all enjoyed its capabilities and thought it was a really useful option for us to consider using ourselves in the future.
